ผมมีโอกาสทดลองใช้เครื่อง Fisher CZ-21 แล้วชอบมากเพราะเครื่องสามารถจำแนกประเภทโลหะได้ละเอียดกว่า ผมลองกดหมายเลข 2 ของปุ่ม DISC เครื่องจะไม่ได้ยินเสียงของฝาเบียร์เลย

สำหรับปุ่ม pinpoint ของ เครื่อง CZ-21 นี้จะแตกต่างจากปุ่ม pinpoint ของ CZ-20 ตรงที่ว่าเราไม่จำเป็นต้องกดแช่ไว้ แต่เราแค่กดกิ้กหนึ่งแล้วปล่อย เครื่องก็จะพินพ้อยน์ให้เรา หากเราต้องการจะหยุดก็กดปุ่มเดิมเพื่อเลิกพินพ้อยน์ ดีกว่าของเดิมมาก สะดวกมาก เข้าใจว่าเครื่องจะมาถึงบ้านเราประมาณเดือนมกราคมปีหน้า คอยอีกสองสามอาทิตย์คงมาบ้านเราแล้ว สนใจติดต่อคุณแมวหรือคุณคีธได้ครับ หรือจะเมล์มาหาผมก็ได้ครับ จะเป้นตัวกลางติดต่อให้

ลองดูรายละเอียดของเครื่องคร่าวๆ ที่นำมาให้ดูนะครับ

ปุ่มควบคุมการทำงานจะมีสี่ปุ่มเท่ากับ CZ-20 คือมี ปุ่ม SENSE(1-10) GROUND(1-10) VOLUME(1-10) และปุ่ม DISC(1-6)
ปุ่ม Sense จะอยู่ปุ่มเดียวกับปุ่มทดสอบแบตตารี่
มีไฟ LED สองดวงคู่ อยู่ด้านบน
สามารถนำลงไปใช้ใต้น้ำได้ลึกถึง 250 ฟุตหรือประมาณ 75 เมตร
เครื่องรุ่นนี้ยังใช้ความถี่แบบ Dual อยู่
โดยใช้ความถี่แบบ VLF(Very Low Frequency)ในลักษณะ Slow Motion(แกว่งคอยล์ช้าๆ)
เราสามารถใช่ปุ่ม VCO โดยกดค้างไว้เพื่อให้ no motion (ไม่ต้องแกว่งคอยล์)

Feel good from Fisher Labs Customer Service

I feel good from Fisher Labs Customer Service's message, even I felt guilty that I was disappointed when I first heard about the repair cost.The Fisher Labs proved that the company is a professional one. The service comes first. My new detector must be Fisher's, ofcourse.

I got another good news from Fisher via Keith that my detector is nearly finished. I've been waiting for it nearly four weeks. My dream comes true. This is the message he wrote to Keith.

Keith,

I do apologize for the delay, but I had only received one email
yesterday on this matter. I was unable to respond due to email issues.
Unfortunately, my email was down for most of the day, and by the time it
was back up, I had no one to get an answer from as to the status on this
unit. Tina has just informed me that the unit is sitting for a water
test. It should be tested today, and by this afternoon we will have an
answer as to whether or not the unit passes the test. Please keep in
mind that parts for these units are now obsolete or limited, and we are
in the process of production of the new CZ21 which we are still awaiting
parts for. Once I have a better status, you WILL be notified.

คุณคีธแจ้งราคาค่าซ่อมให้ผมทราบว่าจะต้องเสียค่าใช้จ่ายอะไรบ้าง ส่วนความคืบหน้าของการซ่อมเครื่องขณะยังไม่มีข่าวอะไรใหม่ออกมาเพราะบริษัทฯยังไม่ได้แจ้งว่าเครื่องจะเสร็จเมื่อไร

I was informed by the dealer, Keith, how much I need to pay for my detector repair. He is also surprised that the company agreed to repair it. Anyway, he is glad that the company did it. He sent me details of expense. It includes postage, tax and US$ 25.00 processing fee. It's not bad, is it? The detector's updated news from factory has not been issued. So I still don't know when the detector's coming back. Hopefully, the company's repair dapartment is finished repairing my detector sooner.

โชคดีที่คุณคีธหาใบรับประกันของเครื่องผมได้และสแกนส่งเมล์ไปให้บริษัทฯ บริษัทตอบกลับมาว่าขอให้ส่งค่าธรรมเนียมการซ่อมไปอีก 25 ดอลลาร์โดยผ่านบัญชี Universal Alliance ซึ่งคุณคีธได้ออกเงินไปก่อนและแจ้งให้ผมทราบค่าใช่จ่ายต่างๆ

Fortunately, Keith helped me to send the scanned copy of warranty to the factory. The company received it and later replied Keith and asked him to send $25.00 USD processing fee through Universal Alliance account. Thanks Keith, he did.

Hi:

One thing I would suggest, is when units are returned (especially from
overseas since postage rates are high which I pick up out of pocket) is
a detailed description of what the problem is with the unit when a
repair estimate is given. That way I can get back to the customer and
help explain things.

Here is the communication I received:

Please be advise of the charges for this unit :

1) Parts>$793.77
2) Labor>$110.00
3) Freight>$25.00
4) Grand Total>$928.77

These are the only details about the unit which I was apprised. The
situation makes much more sense now that you have explained it in more
detail (in response to Mr Suwan's complaint).

The unit was due to be returned unrepaired, per previous conversations.
Can you let me know if it is route yet? If not I will pursue the
warranty query with the customer.

หลังจากที่ผมร้องเรียนเรื่องการซ่อมเครื่อง CZ-20 ของผมไปยังบริษัทฯ ผมได้รับข้อความจากบริษัทเพื่อชี้แจงเรื่องราวที่เกิดขึ้น และเพื่อให้เกิดความเป็นธรรมกับบริษัทและไม่เป็นการกล่าวหาด้านเดียว ผมเลยนำข้อความของบริษัทที่ส่งมาหาผมลงให้ดูกันครับ ส่วนเหตุการณ์จะเป็นอย่างไรในโอกาสต่อไปจะนำมาลงให้ดูกันครับ

Dear Customer,

We most certainly do apologize for any inconvenience. However, our company policy and process was initiated and conducted exactly the way it is with any other unit that comes in for repair. Your unit did,in fact, have some large issues with it. Our main concern was to repair your unit, not cheat you into purchasing a new unit. Unfortunately, due to the discontinuation of the CZ20 and the introduction of the CZ21,most parts are now obsolete for the CZ20. This makes no difference,because the parts for the CZ21 that have replaced the parts for the CZ20 are priced exactly the same, so even if we did have the CZ20 parts to keep your unit as a CZ20, you would still have been charged the same amount. The housing on your unit was cracked allowing water to oxidize and/or corrode the PCB assemblies. Along with these assemblies, switches would need to be replaced. None of these parts are inexpensive. We do assure you that you have not been singled out, and we do not wish to do such with anyone else.

I would also like to add that I am not understanding why your unit was never registered. In all honesty, this whole situation can be resolved in a more positive way for you if you can furnish an accurate warranty card completely filled in with a copy of a proof of purchase. I did a bit of research on your unit, and technically, your unit could be covered under warranty, leaving you to only pay the $25.00 USD processing fee. If you can furnish this information via fax or a scanned copy via email, it would be greatly appreciated and also speed up the process to have your unit returned to you.

All products come and go whether with or without a replacement. Upgrades come along simply to better products and not cheat anyone out of anything they possibly possess. We are a company looking to satisfy all of our customers to the extent that they can always have the high-end of our metal detecting products. If ever a situation comes about where a customer is unhappy with our products or our service, we do as much as possible to accommodate those customers and address and absolve any issue.

Please review what I have mentioned above, and if you can furnish the information requested, I will do everything in my power to get this case situated.

CZ-20, Fisher Lab's Tricky

I had a bad experience with the Fisher Lab’s service. My only one CZ-20 was broken down in late September, 2007. I contacted the dealer in Thailand that I bought the detector from. He’s a nice guy, actually. It later was sent to the Fisher Lab in USA. I was informed after over a month passed by that the total cost of fixing was $US 928.77, including freight and labor cost. It’s costly, isn’t it? The point I was disappointed is that I'm quite sure the Fisher Lab is tricky. They don’t mean to give you CZ-20 service anymore. They want to sell you the coming CZ-21 rather than fixing the old model, CZ-20. So, they charge you so high that you can do nothing, but you are forced to buy the new one. This is the way the company cheats you. Next time if you want to buy a new metal detector, I want to remind you that “think over the good service comes first, rather than the new body cover of the CZ-21” There are many brand names and types of detector around the world at the moment. Make sure you get new one with a good service. Fisher Lab is not providing you good service anymore, I bet!.

ผมรู้สึกไม่ดีกับบริษัท Fisher Lab มากกับการบริการยอดแย่ของบริษัท แม้จะได้รับรู้เรื่องราวบางส่วนจากอินเตอร์เน็ตทำนองนี้มาก่อน เรื่องของเรื่องก็คือ เครื่องตรวจโลหะของผมเกิดมีปัญหา ใช้งานไม่ได้ ผมโทรศัพท์ปรึกษากับคุณคีธ ตัวแทนจำหน่ายของบริษัท Fisher Lab คุณคีธแนะนำให้ส่งเครื่องไปซ่อมที่บริษัท และบอกค่าซ่อมคร่าวๆ ประมาณ 8,000-10,000 บาท ผมฝากส่งเครื่อง CZ-20 ของผมไปซ่อมที่อเมริกาทางไปรษณีย์โดยคุณคีธเป็นคนจัดการให้หมด และบอกว่าจะใช้เวลาประมาณหกสัปดาห์ ต่อมา บริษัทแม่ที่อเมริกาแจ้งราคาผ่านทางคุณคีธมาว่า ค่าซ่อมรวมแล้ว ตกอยู่ที่ 928.77 ดอลลาร์หรือประมาณ 31,578 บาท โอ!อะไรกันนี่ แพงมหาโหด คุณคีธตอบไปว่าขอให้ส่งเครื่องกลับ ราคาซ่อมที่ว่านี้ เราสามารถซื้อเครื่องใหม่ได้จ้าบๆ ทีเดียว สิ่งที่ติดใจก็คือ ผมไม่เชื่อว่าเขาซ่อมเครื่องไม่ได้ แต่บริษัทไม่ยอมและไม่อยากซ่อมเพราะเขาต้องการขายของรุ่นใหม่มากกว่า นั่นก็คือ CZ-21ที่กำลังจะออกใหม่ต้นปีหน้า นี่คือเล่ห์กลการเอาเปรียบของบริษัท เรื่องราวทำนองนี้ไม่ได้เพิ่งเกิดขึ้น ผมเคยอ่านบทความลักษณะนี้มาก่อนมากมาย ลูกค้าหลายคนเบื่อกับการบริการของบริษัทมาก คราวหน้าหากต้องการซื้อเครื่อง Metal detector หรือเครื่องตรวจหาโลหะใหม่ละก้อ คิดให้หนักๆ คิดถึงเรื่องการบริการหลังการขายด้วย และที่สำคัญ หากไม่อยากปวดหัวแบบผมละก้อ ลืมเรื่องเครื่องของบริษัทที่ว่านี้ไปได้เลย

อย่างไรก็ตาม ต้องขอขอบคุณ คุณคีธที่บริการให้เป็นอย่างดีโดยไม่คิดค่าส่งทั้งไปและกลับซึ่งก็หลายพันบาทอยู่

พวกเรา นักเดินทาง ไปหาของกับพวก แต่เราไปถึงบ้านเพ ระยองเกือบมืดแล้ว ตั้งใจจะข้ามไปเกาะเสม็ดตอนเช้ามืด เราตกลงใจจะพักที่โรงแรมใกล้ๆ ท่าเรือเพ ผมอ่าน Thailand Guidebook ของ Lonely Planet ว่ามีโรงแรมสองแห่งในละแวกนั้น ได้แก่โรงแรม Diamond กับโรงแรม Queen ซึ่งนัยว่าเจ้าของอัธยาศัยดี ราคาไม่แพงมาก เมื่อเข้าไปถามที่โรงแรมแรกคือโรงแรมไดมอน เยื้องๆ กับท่าเรือ ก็ต้องผิดหวัง ที่น่าตำหนิคือ พนักงานแกบอกหน้าเฉยว่า 500 บาท ทั้งที่หน้าโรงแรมเขียนไว้ว่า 300 บาท น่าเสียดาย พอเวลาผ่านไปความโลภเข้ามาแทนที่ โกงลูกค้าหน้าตาเฉยด้วยการโก่งราคาช่วงที่แขกมาพักเยอะๆ เพราะเป็นวันหยุดหลายวัน ผมเลยตัดใจกับพวกไปพักที่โรงแรมควีน ซึ่งก็ไม่ผิดหวังเพราะในหนังสือระบุว่าห้องละ 300 บาท ก็ยังไม่ขึ้นราคา แม้สภาพห้องจะไม่ดีนัก แต่ก็โอเคสำหรับเรา “ เรายอมนอนในสถานที่แย่ แต่คนดี ดีว่าพักในสถานที่ดีๆ แต่คนแย่”

ระวังเสียงเล็กๆ ใต้ทราย

การหาของใต้ทรายตามชายหาดนั้น บ่อยครั้งที่เราเจอขยะมากมาย และเมื่อเจอขยะบ่อยๆ ครั้งทำให้เรามองข้ามและผ่านเลยเสียงเล็กๆ ที่คล้ายๆ กับขยะ ผมมักขุดทุกอย่างที่ได้ยินเสียง แม้จะเป็นเสียงเบาๆ ซึ่งก็ไม่ผิดหวังเพราะมีหลายครั้งอีกเช่นกันที่เสียงเบาๆ เหล่านั้นกลายเป็นแหวนทองวงเล็กๆ (ดังเช่นแหวนในรูปนี้) เพราะพื้นที่ของแหวนนั้นน้อย การได้ยินเสียงจึงค่อยหรือเบามากจนเราไม่ทันสังเกต ยิ่งหากเป็นแหวนที่ตั้งขึ้นด้วยแล้วยิ่งเสียงเบามาก

เครื่อง CZ-20 ของ Fisher ทำงานได้ผลเสมอ เคยคิดจะขายเครื่องนี้เพื่อเล่นเครื่องใหม่หลายครั้ง แต่ก็ยังเสียดาย ก็อย่าลืมนะครับ ขุดทุกอย่างที่ได้ยิน การข้ามผ่านเลยไปเพราะกลัวเสียเวลานั้น ทำให้เราพลาดโอกาสสำคัญ และระลึกเสมอว่า ความสนุกอยู่ตรงที่เราได้ลุ้นว่า ของที่เราพบนั้นจะเป็นอะไร มากกว่าการค้นหาของมีค่าอย่างเดียว

โรงแรมนี้ เข้าใจว่าในอดีตเคยเป็นที่พักนักเดินทาง แต่ในปัจจุบันกลายเป็นย่านอาบอบนวด มีผู้ชายนักเที่ยวพาหมอนวดเข้ามาพักทำให้บรรยากาศไม่เหมาะกับนักเดินทางเท่าไรนักเพราะอึกทึกโดยเฉพาะตอนดึกๆ แต่เจ้าของก็ยังอัธยาศัยดีอยู่ ดีกว่าโรงแรมไดมอนมาก โดยเฉพาะเรื่องการโก่งราคากับนักเดินทาง

ไปเที่ยว detecting ที่ชะอำ มีชายหนุ่มคนหนึ่งเข้ามาทักว่า “พี่สุวรรณหรือเปล่าครับ” เราตอบว่า “ใช่ครับ” ทั้งๆ ที่ยังสงสัยว่าเขารู้จักเราได้อย่างไร พอคุยกันสักพักก็ทราบวงการนี้แคบมากเพราะส่วนใหญ่จะรู้จักกันจากเพื่อนของเพื่อน ต่อๆ กันไป
หนุ่มที่ว่านั้นชื่อเอกและยังแนะนำให้รู้จักเพื่อนร่มแก้งอีกคนชื่อพี่ขุนช้าง เราได้ความรู้จากพวกเขาอีกมากมาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเทคนิคต่างๆ ในการหาของ ไปจนถึงมาตรวัดระดับน้ำจากกรมอุทกศาสตร์ กองทัพเรือซึ่งเป็นประโยชน์กับเรามาก ต้องขอขอบคุณเพื่อนทั้งสองคนไว้ ณ ที่นี้ด้วย

หลวงพ่อผวน วัดช่องลมองค์นี้ทราบว่าเป็นรุ่นแรกของวัดช่องลม อู่ทองด้วย ขุดได้บริเวณสนามโรงเรียนวัดท่าพระยาจักรเช่นกัน ได้คราวเดียวกันกับพระงบน้ำอ้อย สภาพดีกว่าที่เราขุดได้เมื่อคราวก่อน

My 2 days Metal detecting at U-Thong, Suphanburi

Two days of a primary school football ground detecting was worthy. Nine different metal amulets were found. A few of them was qiute old. One is Luang Por Derm copper amulet. It is a 1939 one. I was told by the school janiter that the school was founded in 1970. There were many classes come and go in the small school. The children lost their coins and amulets while they were playing on the football ground. I did’t regret that I hung around for two days in the small school rather than crowded beaches I meant to go detecting at the time. I plan to try some other school grounds.

น้ำกะทิลูกจันทร์

ไปเที่ยววัดกษัตริยารามที่อยุธยาซึ่งเป็นวัดเก่าแก่วัดหนึ่ง พบลูกจันทร์สุกหล่น เก็บขึ้นมาดมเล่นทำให้หวนคิดถึงวัยเด็ก ตอนที่แม่คุณ(ยาย)ทำน้ำกะทิลูกจันทร์ให้กิน ตอนนี้ไม่สามารถหากินอาหารสูตรนี้ได้แล้ว เลยเอาตำหรับแม่คุณมาปันกันชิม

เครื่องปรุง
ลูกจันทร์สุกงอม 4-5 ลูก
น้ำตาลมะพร้าว 2-3 ช่อนโต้ะ
กะทิสดคั้น 1 ชามใหญ่

วิธีทำ
เอากะทิใส่หม้ออวย (หรือหม้ออะไรก็ได้)
เอาน้ำตาลปึกใส่ลงอวยแล้วขยำให้ละลาย ถ้าจะให้ตรงตามสูตรที่แม่คุณทำก็ต้องใช้ใบตองแห้งขยำ
ปอกลูกจันทร์ เสร็จ นำลงขยำในหม้อ ลองชิมดู ถ้าไม่หวานก็ใส่น้ำตาล ขยำอีกรอบ
นำหม้ออวยขึ้นตั้งไฟ ต้มให้สุกเหมือนกับน้ำกะทิทุเรียน สุกแล้วยกลง
จากนั้นนำไปกินกับข้าวเหนียวมูล อร่อยไม่รู้เรื่อง

Traditional Treasure Hunter

ไปเยี่ยมพี่ชายที่หัวรอ อยุธยา พบ Treasure hunter หรือนักล่าสมบัติในรูปแบบเดิมๆ ที่เราเป็นเด็ก โดยใช้เครื่องอัดอากาศปั้มเข้าหัวครอบแล้วเดินใต้น้ำ ขุดของใส่ถุงแล้วนำขึ้นมาร่อนข้างบนเรือ เราเองใช้ Metal detector แต่ก็ไม่สามารถหาในระดับลึกๆ ได้เพราะเราไม่ได้ใช้ชุดดำน้ำ ดูแล้วน่าจะอนุรักษ์ไว้

โลหะกลมปริศนา

โลหะรูปทรงกลม คล้ายกระสุนหนังสติ้ก เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางประมาณ 1 ซม. ยังไม่ทราบว่าแน่ชัดว่าเป็นอะไร กำลังพยายามศึกษาอยู่ หากใครทราบช่วยบอกด้วยครับ แต่คิดว่าไม่น่าใช่เงินพดด้วง เป็นโลหะคล้ายตะกั่ว นิ่มมาก พบครั้งแรกถูกเคลือบไว้ด้วยสารสีขาว

ได้มีโอกาสกลับไปเที่ยวอู่ทอง สุพรรณบุรีอีกครั้ง และได้ไปเยี่ยมเพื่อนๆ ที่ยังสอนอยู่ที่มหาวิทยาลัยเวสต์เทอร์น(หรือมหาวิทยาลัย ณิวัฒนาเดิม) เรานำเอาเครื่อง Metal detector ติดไปด้วย เราไปพักกับเพื่อนคนหนึ่งซึ่งพักอยู่ที่หน้าวัดท่าพระยาจักรหรือวัดช่องลม ตอนกลางวันเราปั่นจักรยานไปเที่ยวที่เจดีย์หลายเลขหนึ่งของอู่ทอง กะจะลองหาของดู พบเด็กหนุ่มเลี้ยงวัวคนหนึ่งเข้ามาหาเราและบอกว่า “ลุง แหวนทองผมหายตอนเลี้ยงวัว ลุงช่วยหาให้หน่อยได้หรือเปล่าครับ” เราบอก ได้ ไม่เสียเวลาอะไรมาก เราลองหาที่บริเวณหลังวัดตามที่เด็กหนุ่มทคนนั้นชี้ตำแหน่งอยู่พักใหญ่ แต่ก็ไม่เจออะไร
เย็นวันต่อมา เรา ลองเดินเข้าไปที่สนามโรงเรียนวัดช่องลม เด็กๆ กำลังเตะฟุตบอลกันอยู่ที่สนาม เราเลยลองหาของแถวๆ ขอบสนามโรงเรียน เด็กๆ ที่กำลังเล่นฟุตบอลมารุมมุงดูว่าเราทำอะไร ช่วยเราขุด แต่มือเด็กๆ เยอะเกินไปทำให้ทำงานไม่สะดวก เผอิญภารโรงเดินมาถามว่าเราทำอะไร เราตอบว่าหาเศษตังค์หล่น พี่แกเล่าให้ฟังว่าแกเป็นศิษย์เก่าที่นี่ แกบอกว่าโรงเรียนแห่งนี้ตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๕๑๓ ที่สนามแห่งนี้เป็นของเดิมๆ ไม่ได้ถมดิน แค่เกลี่ยที่ดอนลงมาให้เสมอกันเท่านั้น เราเลยลองหาๆ ดู พบเศษสตางค์มากมาย แต่ที่สำคัญเราเจอพระเหรียญในเย็นวันนั้นสามองค์ เป็นเหรียญหลวงพ่อเดิม วันหนองโพ รุ่นแรก เหรียญพระยอดธง เพชรบุรี เหรียญหลวงพ่อดำ สุพรรณบุรี รูปหล่อขนาดเล็กของสมเด็จพุฒาจารย์โต ภารโรงขอเหรียญหลวงพ่อเดิมไปส่องดูแล้วบอกว่าเป็นเหรียญรุ่นแรก เรากลับบ้านด้วยอาการกระหยิ่มยิ้มย่องเพราะราคาเช่าของหลวงพ่อเดิมในตลาดเล่นพระนั้นว่ากันเป็นหมื่นในตลาดพระบางแห่ง(เราฟังมาจากภารโรง)
รุ่งเช้า เราตื่นตีห้าเพื่อไปกลับหาของที่เดิม เช้าตรู่อย่างนี้ดีมากเพราะไม่มีเด็กเล็กๆ มามุงดูเพราะเด็กยังไม่มาโรงเรียน ทำงานง่าย ไม่ผิดหวังเราได้พระมาอีกสองสามองค์ เป็นหลวงพ่อพวน วัดช่องลม กับเหรียญอีกกำมือหนึ่ง ไม่ได้นับว่าเท่าไร ก็ไม่ขี้เหร่มากนัก แต่สิ่งที่ทำให้เราตื่นเต้นก็คือของที่เราได้มาอีกสองสามอย่าง เช่น เงินกลมๆ เส้นผ้าศูนย์กลางประมาณหนึ่งเซ็นติเมตร ดูไม่ออกว่าเป็นอะไร ต้องกลับไปล้าง เปิดหนังสือดู การหาของที่อู่ทองนั้นนับว่าคุ้มมาก เราอยากไปเที่ยวเกาะช้างมากๆ ช่วงนี้ โดยไม่นึกถึงการหาของแถวๆ ใกล้บ้านหรือที่ทุกๆ ที่ที่เราไปเที่ยว อยากไปแต่ชายหาดอย่างเดียว ทำให้เรานึกถึงคำพูดของใครที่ว่า “The other people’s lawn is greener” สนามหญ้าของชาวบ้านสวยกว่าของเรา ทั้งๆ ที่บ้านเราก็เขียวอยู่แล้ว จริงอย่างที่เขาว่าแฮะ

My old friend

I later find that I feel scary when I go down the muddy shallow water. I wore this casual pairs of shoe when I went out for outdoor activities. They were broken down four months ago. They later were repaired and used for shallow water hunting searching. They work very well, even they once were thrown away. Keep searching your old shoes and have not been used anymore. You'll find that they might be helpful as you have never expected before.

My scoops

My self-hand made scoops were made by my workers in our factory. I asked him to make them by using second-hand stainless steel plate I bought from a recycle shop near my home. They are good quality, even they are blunt. It's low cost tool. However, if you want to do it by yourself, make sure you have appropriate tools. Otherwise, you 'll spend more much money than you buy it from dealers.

Aqua Bag for brick a brack stuff

I bought this cheap bag from Manila, the Philipines, last year. It costs only 500 hundred Thai baht(about $US 15). I found that it's helpful when I carried my metal detecting stuff to waterfalls. I just put things in one bag, including my detector gears. I aslo put lunch in there. It's comfortable, isn't it?

One Stang Coin

I found this ancient one stang coin in the back yard of my house. I just realised later on that my property belonged to a wealthy native. The problem is that it becomes a fruit orchard. I can not dig it out deeper.

My Tools

I try to carry as light as tools to metal detect in other far-away palces because they are heavy and difficult to travel, particulrily when you take public transportations. I pack my stuff in a small bag. and put it in an aqua bag along with scoops. The aqua contains my sleeping bag and tent. So I just carry one bag and a case of metal setector.

My watch

My favorite wrist watch that I always wear while I'm detecting. It's a cheap Timex one.

My Finds

After came back from Wang Ta Krai Waterfall, Nakhon Nayok, Thailand. I found that things under creek beds were also intersteting, apart from beaches and canals. The water was running dry in summer. The oval-round small rocks appear and you can find treasures under the rocks. They are mostly coins and silver rings. I have not found gold rings, anyway. I was told by a security guard that some of treasure hunters came down here a couple times. They searched greedily under the water bed. Some of them destroy the water way by changing the position of the huge stones in the middle of the stream. Sad, isn't it? They just want get what they want without any cares.

I cleaned my finds but some of them are still dirty. Anyway, they are just for my memory.

Starting Metal Detecting

I and some of my staff were invited by one of my former students to visit her family on a summer holiday at Ban Phe of Rayong, east of Thailand. I was introduced to her father, Mr. Siaw. I later was told that he resigned from Royal Air Force officer post, at Kampaengsaen Air Force base years ago. He and his family moved to this town and run a near-beach sea-food restaurant. He helps his wife’s cooking work in the day time and goes detecting at night time as his hobby.
He introduced me to get used with his favorite Fisher CZ-20 detector. I had never seen metal detector before. It was my first experience to touch it since I have never heard about it, either. He has been detecting in different beaches for years. He also took me to the beach in front of his place and we went into the water. He showed me things he got from the sea beach and underwater. I suddenly was interested in the amazing device. After the holiday finished, I came back home and kept searching for the detectors information, with different brand names. I want to get a good, but cheap, one. I finally made decision to buy a second hand one. The cost was not cheap, but the quality is okay. The detector was the used Fisher CZ-20. It belonged to Mr. Siew’s friend who wanted move to other town and needed some urgent cash.
The manual of CZ-20 was printed out from internet and I read how the detector works, how to detect metal objects and how to cope with problems while going detecting.
One year later, at the moment, I can control the machine but I have not got things much. Coins are the main items that I always got.
Silver rings are second list of finds. Only one gold ring I got from Cha-Am beach. Anyway, I still keep trying to search the lost treasures. Luck is coming, hopefully. If you see someone’s walking on one of the beautiful beaches in Thailand. One of them might be me. Say hello to me sometimes.

Fly like a bird

Time comes and goes. Some of the hard times have gone. The good times disappeared. It’s not my time any more. I’m retired from work, but not from once was a dream. I spend my time for detecting. I’ve been wandering around to search things underneath for months. I mostly found rusty old coins, silver rings, stainless bracelets, small gold rings and so on. I found that I’m very happy to walk on the beaches, abandoned playground, football grounds and in small dams that people always visiting on weekend. Many curious lookers circled me to have a look what I found. I chat with school closed gangs, young school children, who always shoot me different questions while I’m hunting treasures on the beaches. Sort of good fun, isn’t it?

การDetecting ค้นหาของในดินแข็งนั้น บางครั้งต้องระวังเสียง เราอาจหลงเสียง คิดว่าเป็นเหล็กหรือโลหะวัตถุไม่มีค่าโดยเฉพาะคนที่ใช้เครื่อง CZ-20 เพราะเสียงของเหรียญสิบบาทนั้นจะคล้ายกับสเตนเลสมาก เมื่อสัญญาณถูกส่งขึ้นมาเป็นเสียงรัวคล้ายเสียงโทรศัพท์ อย่าลืมว่าเหรียญบางรุ่นข้างในเป็นเหล็ก แต่เคลือบด้วยทองแดงหรือนิเกิล อาจทำให้เสียงเพี้ยน เมื่อเราผ่านไป เหรียญสิบบาทยังคงนอนคอยเราอยู่ใต้ดิน น่าเสียดาย

ถ้ามือใหม่ยังไม่คุ้นเคยกับส่วนประกอบของ Metal detector เราจำเป็นต้องใช้เวลาศึกษาส่วนประกอบก่อนเพื่อให้คุ้นเคยกับเครื่องมือ
ส่วนแรกที่จะแนะนำได้แก่ ส่วนที่เรียกว่าที่พักแขนหรือ Arm-rest (1) ส่วนนี้ไว้สำหรับพักน้ำหนักเครื่องโดยให้ที่รองแขนอยู่ตรงใต้ข้อศอกของเรา
ส่วนที่สองถัดมาจาก Arm-rest คือ Main Shaft (2) ส่วนนี้เป็นส่วนที่เห็นโค้งๆ มีมือจับระยะห่างระหว่างที่พักแขนคือระยะของศอกเพื่อให้ถือเครื่องสะดวก ไม่เมื่อยแขน
ส่วนที่สาม คือส่วนที่เรียกว่า Control box (3) ส่วนนี้เป็นแผงวงจรไฟฟ้าที่ขับเคลื่อนให้เครื่องทำงาน ชนิดของแผงวงจรนี้ขึ้นอยู่กับยี่ห้อและชนิดของเครื่องdetector เช่นเครื่องหาทอง เหรียญ ของเก่าโบราณ หรือโลหะอื่นๆ ก็อาจมีรายละเอียดแตกต่างกันออกไป
ถัดลงไปอีกคือส่วนที่อยู่ใต้ Main shaft เรียกว่าก้าน Fiberglass Tube (4) ส่วนนี้สามารถชักให้สั้นยาวหรือยืดหดได้เพื่อให้เหมาะกับความสูงของผู้ใช้
ส่วนที่อยู่ถัดลงไปอีกได้แก่ส่วนที่มีลักษณะกลมๆ คล้ายจานหรือที่เรียกว่า Search Coil (5) ส่วนนี้มีสายไฟติดอยู่และโยงไปถึงControl Box โดยผ่านไปทาง Connecting Plug (6)
ที่ฐานของจาน Search coil มีที่ครอบหรือ Coil cover (7) ครอบไว้เพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้จานSearch coil ได้รับความเสียหาย
ลักษณะภายนอกทั่วไปของเครื่องแต่ละยี่ห้ออาจไม่เหมือนเครื่องที่กล่าวมาทั้งหมด แต่ส่วนประกอบจะเหมือนๆกัน

Metal Detecting คืออะไร
ความหมายง่ายๆ สำหรับคนทั่วไปก็คือ การค้นหาโลหะวัตถุจำพวก แหวน สร้อยหรือเหรียญต่างๆ ที่อยู่ซ่อนอยู่ในดินในระดับที่ไม่ลึกมาก
มีใคร(จำไม่ได้แล้ว)บางคนกล่าวไว้ว่า “ขยะของบางคนอาจเป็นสมบัติของอีกคน” การที่เราออกไปหาของท่อมๆ อยู่นั้นเราอาจเจอสมบัติซึ่งเป็นขยะของคนอื่นหรืออาจพบสมบัติที่สูญหายของใครบางคนที่เราไม่รู้จักแล้ว เราคือ “ผู้ค้นพบ”
ประโยชน์ของการออกไปเดินค้นหาของเหล่านี้มีไม่น้อย เช่น ทำให้เราหลุดพ้นจากงานประจำที่จำเจไปสู่สถานที่อากาศบริสุทธิ์ เป็นกิจกรรมการออกกำลังกายได้ดี ทำให้เราเพลิดเพลินกับธรรมชาติแปลกใหม่และพบสิ่งที่บรรพบุรุษของเราทิ้งไว้ให้เราค้นหาอีกด้วย นอกจากนั้นเรายังสามารถแบ่งปันข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่เราขุดได้ให้คนอื่นๆ ได้อีก ไม่ว่าจะเป็นที่บ้าน ร้านกาแฟ ที่ทำงานหรือทางอินเตอร์เน็ต
